Several types of litter

There are several types of litter to suit the needs of animals and the preferences of owners. Mineral litter, often made of clay, is very popular due to its affordable cost and effectiveness. It can be absorbent or clumping, the latter facilitating maintenance by forming solid clumps. Plant litter, made from natural materials such as wood, corn or coconut fibers, is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. It offers good absorption and limits odors, while being lightweight and compostable. Silica litter, made of crystals or beads, is very absorbent and effective at neutralizing odors. Durable, it is suitable for homes looking for minimal maintenance. Each type has its advantages and disadvantages. The choice depends on the cat's preferences, the desired maintenance frequency and the owner's environmental considerations.
